Director of Hot Sauce Lacrosse
Dan Lannon, a native of Syracuse, N.Y., played lacrosse at a young age, having two older brothers that played. In high school (Fayetteville-Manlius HS, NY), he played defense, was captain of the varsity team and an "All County" selection. Dan was selected to the Central Region of the Empire State Games and helped his team to a Silver Medal in 1986. In college he played at Syracuse University as a long stick middie and defenseman from 1988 to 1991 where he won three NCAA National Championship rings.
Dan has refereed and coached in various youth leagues in NY, PA, and AZ for the last 20 years. He is a certified high school and college official, and has played and officiated at numerous post-collegiate tournaments all over the country. In 2008, he was hired as a “tech ref” for the National Lacrosse League. Dan also runs the Desert Men's Lacrosse League and takes competitive men’s teams to play in tournaments in Las Vegas, San Diego and Vail each year. His Cactus Master’s (age 35+ ) Team won the San Diego Jam by the Sea and the Lax Vegas Master’s division Tournaments in 2010.
Dan has been the head coach at Desert Vista High School since 2009. He was named the AYLL Coach of the Year by his peers for the 2009 season. In 2014, Dan was also named Coach of the Year by the Arizona Lacrosse League. Dan has coached with the Az Starz/Burn and Force Lacrosse Club while taking teams to numerous tournaments in San Diego, Sonoma, Vegas, Vail and Denver. Dan worked with at-risk youth and disabled children for 20 years in an experiential learning program. Currently Dan works at ITConvergence managing projects in Brazil while also doing consulting work in corporate team building for Adventure Associates.
